Larry Gene Creekmore, 81, passed away Wednesday, September 30, 2026, at North Alabama Medical Center, surrounded by family and friends. He was born to Elvin and Beatrice Holland Creekmore in Vina, AL. He was a member of Hurricane Baptist Church. He loved his family very much and had many friends throughout the country. He would talk to anyone about anything. He loved hunting, being on his tractor and Alabama football. He was employed by Sunshine Mills, Inc. in Red Bay for the last forty-nine years, but most of all, he was a beloved husband, father and grandfather.

Funeral service will be Saturday, October 3, 2026, at 2 p.m. at Deaton Funeral Home Chapel, Red Bay, AL with Bro. Jerry Humphries and Bro. Tim Thorn officiating. Visitation will be Saturday, October 3, 2026, 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. at Deaton Funeral Home. Burial will be in Old Burleson Cemetery. Deaton Funeral Home, Red Bay, AL will be in charge of arrangements.

He is survived by his wife, Cynthia Creekmore; three children, Duane Creekmore (June), Shannon Cummings (Russell) and Adara Cromeans; two sisters, Bobbi Pettey, Icy Parker; a brother, Danny Ray Creekmore; two grandchildren, Nash Creekmore and Tristan Brown; two great-grandchildren, Colt and Aydyn; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers and sisters, Thurman Creekmore, Belt Creekmore, Evonne Sartain, Elsie Singleton, Bud Creekmore, Betty Sue Stanphill and Carlos Creekmore.

Pallbearers will be Nash Creekmore, Keith Kennedy, Marco Bostick, Donnie Wilson, Ricky Dees, Tristan Brown, Brady Hovater, Brian Davis and Shane Creekmore.

Honorary pallbearers will be Alan Bostick, Hal Keeton, Dr. Steven Nabors, Tracy Hovater, Louis Pope and Mickey Berryhill.

The family wishes to thank the nurses on 2nd floor CTRU and ICU at NAMC.
