Doug Counts, age 66, of Haleyville, Alabama, passed away Sunday, September 27, 2026 at Lakeland Community Hospital. He was born August 13, 1960 to Reginald and Emily Counts. Visitation will be Wednesday September 30, 2026 from 12:00 noon until 1:00 p.m. at Nichols Funeral Home in Haleyville, Alabama, where the funeral will follow at 1:00 p.m. Brother Gary Wakefield will officiate. Doug is survived by his wife, Lisa Counts; son, James “Jason” Counts (Amber); brother, Kenneth Counts; sister, Karen Copeland (Martin); grandchildren, James “Kason” Counts, Kirsten Marie Counts, Ian Earlee Counts, Rylan Buckner; sister-in-law, Angela Amerson (Tommy); nieces and nephews, Emily, Anna, Andrew, Joshua, Wesley, Kolby, Jimmy; and beloved fur babies, Sadie and Bandit.
