ATHENS-The Athens Police Department is currently investigating a homicide that appears to be domestic-related.
Last night, at approximately 12:52 a.m., officers responded to a call at the Fifth Avenue Apartments located at 700 Fifth Ave.
Calvin Troup
Upon arrival, officers located 44-year-old Michelle Lee Turner deceased in the bedroom of her residence.
The investigation led to the arrest of Calvin Troup, 47, ex-boyfriend, who was immediately located in Decatur and transported back to the Athens Police Department. He has since been charged with Capital Murder.
Troup has been transferred to the custody of the Limestone County Sheriff’s Office.
APD would like to thank the Decatur Police Department and the Limestone County Sheriff’s Office for their assistance in this investigation.
