Clyde Donald Barrett age 83 of Smithville, and a longtime resident of the Liberty Hill Community, passed away Sunday morning, September 27, 2026, at his home. Donald was born October 10, 1942, to his parents, the late Truemon and Bertie Crook Barrett. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Doug Barrett. He worked at Carrier for 32 1/2 years, was a US Army Veteran and he attended New Vision Baptist Church. He leaves to cherish his memory, one sister, Rita (Gary) Beshearse of Smithville; one brother, Hoyte (Fay) Barrett of Smithville; nieces and nephews, Kandy (James) Culbertson, Lacey (Daniel) Foutch, Jimmy (Christy) Barrett, Angela (Shawn) Puckett, Tommy (Stacey) Barrett and Lee (Kathy) Reynolds. Funeral services will be 1 PM Tuesday, September 29, 2026, at DeKalb Funeral Chapel with Bro. Billy Martin and Bro. Michael Hale officiating and burial will follow in Sycamore Cemetery with Military Honors conducted by the Veterans Honor Guard. Visitation will be Tuesday 10 AM until the time of the service at 1 PM. In addition to flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Sycamore Cemetery, in memory of Donald.
