Donald Ray Owen, 81, of Pontotoc, MS passed away Saturday, September 26, 2026, at his home on Classic Chevy Drive. Donald Ray was born April 16, 1945, to Lucille Caldwell Owen and Mooney Golden Owen of Pontotoc. Donald Ray had a great sense of humor and cherished his family and friends. He retired from Owen Construction Co. after more than 30 years of serving the public. Donald was a long-time board member of the Pontotoc Airport Authority, a position he served with dedication and pride.
Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Barbara Ray Owen, his daughter Jessica Owen Gaston and husband Spencer and his son Ashley Owen; his cherished grandchildren Bryce Gaston, Meghan Gaston and Colby Ray Owen. His sisters Dorothy Pulley, Sandra Nanney, Diane Turner and Phyllis Moore and a host of nieces and nephews.
He was proceeded in death by his parents, Lucille Caldwell Owen, Mooney Golden Owen, a brother Bobby Owen, brothers-in-law Rex Pulley, Rex Nanney, and Johnny Moore and a niece Regina Owen Carter.
A celebration of life will be held Tuesday, September 29, 2026, at Fairview Church, Hwy 341. Visitation will begin at 10:00 with services at 11:00.
