Terry Neal Scott, known to many as “Cotton,” 57, of New Market, Alabama, passed away at his home in New Market, Alabama on September 19, 2026. He was born on February 19, 1969.
Terry will be remembered for his love of Alabama football, Dallas Cowboys football, and big trucks. He spent his later years at home due to health-related challenges.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Kimberly Hargrave; his stepfather, Glenn Johnson; and his precious dog, Toby.
He is survived by his mother, Elizabeth Kay Johnson; his brother, Micheal Putman (Melody); his sons, David and James Avis; his special aunt, Janie Weir (Ronnie); and his cousin, Jeff Reeves; along with many beloved cousins, nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held on October 4, 2026, from 2:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. at Spry Funeral Home of Huntsville.
