Johnny Hamilton, age 83, passed away on September 22, 2026. He was born on
February 8, 1943, in Sheffield, AL. to the late Derby and Mamie Hamilton.
He was employed as a Lab Tech at US Reduction until it closed in 1984. He also
worked in the lab for Sara Lee and Metal Exchange in Moulton, Alabama until he retired
in 2005. He was a member of West Highland Baptist Church; however, he attended
Calvary Baptist Church the last few years. He graduated from Russellville High School
in 1961. His hobbies were watching sports, attending his grandchildren’s sporting
events and spending time with family.
He was preceded in death by his wife Nancy Stanley Hamilton; parents, OJ (Derby) and
Mamie Hamilton; sisters, Lucille Hamilton Robison, Mildred Hamilton; grandson, Jagger
Mills; and great-granddaughter, Jovi James.
He is survived by daughter, Gayla Hamilton Mills (Stuart); granddaughters, Tiffany
Garrison (Tim), Savannah James (Hunter); grandson, JT Watkins (Kyndra); great-
grandson, Branch James; great-granddaughters, Dakota Garrison, Destiny Garrison,
Mia Simmons; several nieces and nephews and special friends JW and Gerry Portwood
and a host of friends.
Pallbearers are Jimmy Taylor, JW Portwood, JT Watkins, Tim Garrison, Hunter James
and Stuart Mills.
Special thanks to Hospice of North Alabama for their care over the last few weeks. A
special thanks to Jenny Reed, Taylor Henderson, Amye Hayes and Brittni Moody.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 24, 2026, from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm at
Pinkard’s Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, September 25, 2026, at 2:00 pm at Pinkard
Funeral Home, with Bro. Wade Wallace officiating
Burial will follow at KP. Cemetery.
