Martha Ann Shelton, 85, of Ardmore, Alabama, passed away peacefully at Athens Limestone Hospital on Thursday, September 24, 2026.
She was born on Monday, May 12, 1941, to the late Samuel Ruby Reyer and the late Annie Pearl Mitchell Reyer.
Martha lived in the Ardmore community her entire life. She was a member at Wooley Springs Baptist Church and enjoyed spending her free time gardening, tending to her flowers, and riding around sightseeing.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Jimmie Shelton, as well as one son, Derek Shelton.
Martha is survived by her son, Dexter (Melissa) Shelton, one sister, Reba Hubbard, one special friend, Mike Magnusson, three grandchildren, Sam (Tasia) Shelton, Katie (Drew) Silva, and Carly (Brian) Nelson, as well as five great grandchildren: Jack Silva, Clarie Silva, Gracie Silva, Parker Nelson, and Cole Nelson.
There will be a visitation held for Mrs. Shelton at Ardmore Chapel Funeral Home in Ardmore, Alabama, on Saturday, September 26, 2026, from 1:00 PM until 3:00 PM with a chapel service scheduled to start immediately after visitation with service time beginning at 3:00 PM. Bro. Tony Boyles and Bro. Bruce Barber will officiate the service. Burial to follow at Gatlin Cemetery.
Ardmore Chapel Funeral Home is assisting the family with services.
