Christopher George Farrar, age 37, of Athens, Alabama, passed away on September 16th, 2026. He was born on July 20th, 1989, to Ronald Farrar and Terry Farrar Hitchcock.
Christopher was the youngest of five children and brought laughter and joy wherever he went. From the very beginning, he had a special spirit—he was swimming by the age of six weeks and continued throughout his life to embrace each moment with a zest for living. Christopher never met a stranger and had a gift for making people laugh. He loved to cook, spend time with his family, and especially cherished the joy of having a father figure in his life again. His beloved dog, Nova or “Marshmallow” as he called her, was also a very special part of his life.
More than anything, Christopher loved his daughter, Renae. She was the light of his life, and the love he had for her was evident to everyone who knew him. Christopher also loved Jesus and held his faith close to his heart.
He is survived by his mother, Terry Farrar Hitchcock; stepfather, Michael Hitchcock; daughter, Renae Farrar, his beloved “Marshmallow” Nova; brothers, Kevin Goughnour and David Farrar; sisters, Karrie Simmers and Lt. Ammie Chittam; and numerous nieces and nephews who will cherish his memory.
Christopher was preceded in death by his father, Ronald Farrar, and his grandparents, Hazel and George Miller.
Christopher’s laughter, kind heart, love for his family, and ability to make everyone feel like a friend will be deeply missed. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
