James Edgar “Jim” Cunningham II passed away on Monday, September 14, 2026. He was a proud United States Army veteran and will be remembered for his quick wit, hilarious sense of humor, and ability to keep everyone around him laughing. Jim always seemed to have a comeback ready and had a generous heart, continuing to help and support his friends even during his own difficult journey with cancer.
Jim was born to the late James Edgar Cunningham, M.D., and Brenda Sanford Cunningham.
Jim is survived by his sister, Debbie Cunningham; his sister, Carol Cunningham Livingston, and her husband, Dell Livingston; their children, Ethan and Benjamin; his special aunt, Bettye Turrentine; and Jim’s best friend, Keith Green.
Jim will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. His laughter, humor, generosity, and the memories he made with those around him will remain with them always.
