Dorothy D. Atnip age 92 of McMinnville passed away Thursday September 17, 2026, at her residence. She was born August 4, 1934, to her parents the late Joseph and Alma Luna Jaco. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James B. Atnip; three children, James Benny Atnip, Debra Elaine Atnip, and Glinda Steakley; four siblings, Emma Jean Grain, Jo Dean (Eston) Adcock, Helen (Dave) Judkins, Betty Butler. Ms. Dorothy was a Baptist and a homemaker. She is survived by daughters, Brenda Atnip of McMinnville and Linda Jo (Steve) Nunley of McMinnville; 13 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; a host of great-great-grandchildren; sister Barbara Adcock of Smithville. Funeral services will be 2PM Saturday September 19, 2026, at DeKalb Funeral Chapel with Bro. Michael Hale officiating and burial to follow in Gath Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday 11AM until the time of the service at 2PM. DeKalb Funeral Chapel is honored to care for the Atnip family.
