Clarice Faye Vickers Brock, 96, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 13 surrounded by her family. She was born on August 14, 1930 to William and Evie Vickers of Elkmont.
Clarice Faye was known as “Mema” to her family She was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother and friend. She was a gentle woman whose quiet strength shaped her family for generations.
Mema found great joy in caring for others. She was a gifted seamstress, an avid gardener, and a wonderful cook. For more than 50 years, Sunday dinners at her home brought her growing family together around the table. She loved rocking babies, tending her flowers and garden, canning vegetables, and sharing what she had with others. Above all, she cherished her family and wanted nothing more than for them to care for one another. She was especially proud of her great great grandchildren, two of whom share her middle name. Josie Faye Brock and Adelyn Faye Holt will always carry part of their precious Mema in those names.
She was a faithful member of Boyd’s Chapel Methodist Church and lived her faith through a lifetime of service to others.
She is survived by her children, Charlotte (David) Holt, Mike (Donna) Brock, Dale (Sandra) Brock, and Darryl (Susan) Brock; eleven grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; and a host of extended family members whom she dearly loved.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Billy Brock.
Visitation will be Wednesday, September 16, from 9 until 11 at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home.
Funeral services for Clarice Faye will be Wednesday, at 11:00am at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home, with Carl Evans officiating. Burial will follow at Sylone Cemetery. Pallbearers will be grandsons. Great grandsons will be honorary pallbearers.
Mema built a lasting legacy in the family she served so well. Her voice was soft, but her life spoke loudly. Her children and generations after her will rise up and call her blessed.
