Funeral service for Timothy H. C. Gillespie, age 87, of Moulton, will be 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 17, 2026, at Parkway Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Jesse Reeder officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 16, 2026, at the funeral home. Interment will be in Moulton Memory Gardens. Timothy H. C. Gillespie, age 87, of Moulton, AL, passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday, September 12, 2026, at 8:06 p.m., surrounded by loved ones.
Timothy was born December 24, 1938, in Moulton, AL, to the late Harry Clifford “H.C.” Gillespie and Niner Mae McNutt Gillespie. He was born, raised, and resided in the Moulton community throughout his life.
A 1957 graduate of Lawrence County High School, Timothy built a long and respected career in the garment industry in Moulton. He began working at the local undergarment and shirt factory, where he served in roles ranging from cutting department supervisor to plant manager. Later, he worked as a mobile home salesman for several dealerships in Decatur and Cullman. He continued working until his retirement at the age of 76.
Timothy was a faithful member of Moulton Baptist Church for approximately 45 years, where he also served as a deacon. His faith, devotion to his community, and strong work ethic shaped the life he lived.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Gemma Miller Gillespie; parents, Harry Clifford “H. C.” Gillespie and Niner Mae McNutt Gillespie; five brothers, Wallace Gillespie, Willard Gillespie, Nick Gillespie, Hilton Gillespie, and Tracy Gillespie; and five sisters, Wilma Weatherwax, Anise Cahela, Movia Byers, Wynelle Carraway, and Carolyn Adkinson.
Timothy is survived by his son, Richard Wayne Gillespie; daughter, Beth Gillespie Holmes (Forrest); brother, David Gillespie, Sr.; granddaughters, Langlee Shae Holmes and Caroline Marie Morgan; grandson, Tanner Blake Gillespie (Kaylee); and great-grandson, John Ryder Gillespie. He will be rememberd with love by his family, friends, church family, and all who knew him.
Pallbearers will be family and friends.
