Funeral service for Barbara Mavene (Crow) White, age 88, of Danville, will be 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 16, 2026, at Parkway Funeral Home Chapel with Denny Bowling officiating. Mrs. White, who died Saturday, September 12, 2026, at Decatur Morgan Hospital, was born January 21, 1938, in Alabama to Grover Dane Crow and Venus Edna McCluskey Crow. She was preceded in death by her husband, James W. White; son, James White, parents; stepdaughter, Fonda McCartney (Dan); and grandchild, Tannah McCartney. Mrs. White was a member of County Line Church of Christ. Family was her everything. She was a faithful wife for 69 years, loved her flowers, enjoyed her sweet tea, and avidly watched “Hardcore Pawn” and “Cash Cowboys” on TV.
She is survived by her daughter, Dee Dee Woodard (Harry); grandchildren, Olivia Giuffrida (Marc), Jeremy Hollis, Carmen Hollis, Candie Watson (Johnny), Buddy White (Heather), Destiney Brown, and Chris McCartney (Mindy); 12 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Jeremy Hollis, Trenton Hollis, Buddy White, Chris McCartney, Johnny Watson, and Kade Watson. Honorary pallbearers will be Will Watson, Jeff Long, and Phillip Crow.
