Reverend Bill Bedsole, age 89, went home to be with the Lord on September 8, 2026. Funeral will be Saturday, September 12, 2026. Services begin at 12 noon, at Morrison Funeral Home, Tuscumbia, AL, in the chapel. Internment with military honors will be at Oakwood Cemetery, Sheffield, AL. The family will receive friends for visitation at 11:00 a.m.- 12:00 p.m.
Billy Clarke Bedsole was born in Thomaston, AL on June 2, 1937, to Cortez Taft Bedsole and Nettie Jean Schroeder Bedsole. A Christian by conversion and Wesleyan by conviction, Billy committed his life to ministry. He served as a Chaplain in the US Navy for 31 years. He pastored in San Diego for 14 years at El Cajon Wesleyan Church. Associate Pastor for many years at First United Methodist Church of Sheffield and ministered to senior adults.
Preceding Bill in death are his parents, brother James Bedsole, son James Allen, Bedsole.
Surviving family members include his daughters, Heather Beamon and Hope Bedsole; daughter-in-law, Shirley Bedsole; son-in-law Dave Beamon; brother, Jerry Bedsole, sister-in-law Judy Bedsole. Grandchildren: Caleb, Jason, Amber, Broc, Hunter, Brady, Hudson, Bella, Kyle, and Kaden, as well as 18 great grandchildren.
Family members will serve as pallbearers.
