Peggy Brosious East, 77, passed away on Friday, June 12, 2026. Born in Detroit, Michigan, she was the daughter of the late Eugene Brosious and Pearl Marie King.
She grew up in Tishomingo County, MS., was a 1965 graduate of Belmont High School; then, attended Northeast MS Community College and graduated from Mississippi State University in 1971. She was a dedicated Federal employee for over thirty years, retiring in 2012. In her retirement, she enjoyed volunteering for several non-profit organizations.
Peggy loved pets, jewelry, brightly-colored clothes, writing poetry, the opera, crafting and NPR; but, most of all, she adored her granddaughter, Emery. Before she became disabled, she was an active member of Grace Presbyterian Church in Madison, AL, participating in their Peacemaking Program.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her son, Christopher East.
She is survived by her son, Joe R. East, III (Kendall), granddaughter, Emery; sister, Jean Bower and extended family.
A graveside service was held on Saturday August 29, 2026 at Lindsey Cemetery, Dennis, MS with Rev. Nicholas Phillips officiating. Deaton Funeral Home assisted the family.
