Richard Donald Sturdevant Richard Donald Sturdevant, born on December 20, 1957, in Dallas, Texas, passed away on September 2, 2026, after a courageous battle with emphysema. He was 68 years old. Richard was a beloved son, brother, father, and grandfather who leaves behind a legacy of love, music, and service.

Richard was the cherished son of the late David Nelson Sturdevant and Florence Elsie Willis. He was predeceased by his parents, as well as his siblings. William David Sturdevant, Howard Sturdevant, and Barbara Louise (Sturdevant).

He is survived by his brother, Charles Junior Sturdevant, who will deeply miss the bond they shared.
Richard leaves behind daughter, Tina Marie Sturdevant (Alonzo), and many nieces and nephews.

Richard served his country honorably in the United States Navy, showcasing his dedication and commitment to protecting and serving others. After his time in the Navy, he embarked on a career as a truck driver, a profession he approached with the same diligence and pride.

Music was an essential part of Richard’s life. He found great joy in playing the guitar and would often be found strumming away, lost in his melodies. He also had a passion for singing and enjoyed participating in karaoke sessions, where his voice and enthusiasm brought joy and laughter to many.

Family and friends are invited to honor Richard’s life at a service on September 8, 2026, at 5:00 PM at Bennett-May & Pierce Funeral Home, located at 1910 Elkton Pike, Pulaski, TN 38478. Visitation with the family will precede the service from 3:00pm to 5:00pm. Together, we will celebrate the remarkable life of a man who touched so many with his courage, love, and laughter.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Richard’s memory to a charity of your choice, reflecting his generous spirit and commitment to helping others.

As we gather to celebrate Richard’s life, we hold close the special message from his family: “Forever in our hearts.” Richard’s legacy of love and music will continue to resonate within us, reminding us to cherish every moment and live life to the fullest.
