Willa Dean Sammet Willa Dean Sammet, age 89, passed away peacefully on September 3rd, 2026 at home surrounded by family. She was born on July 5th, 1937, to Johnny Commodore Wallace and Nancy Ann Young Wallace.

Willa was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend. She will be remembered for her love of cooking, her appreciation for the beauty of wildflowers, and the love and kindness she shared with her family and those around her. She was a faithful member of Wooley Springs Church of Christ.
She is survived by her daughters, Sandi Long (Lynn), Cindy Roper (Christopher), and Deana White (Andy Davis); grandchildren, Kimberly Long, Amanda England (Chris), Cody Roper (Crystal), Heather Bevel, and Derrick Owen; 12 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 64 years, William Sammet; her parents, Johnny Commodore Wallace and Nancy Ann Young Wallace; her brothers, J.C. Wallace and Melvin Wallace; and her great-grandchild, Hayden McElyea.

Visitation will be Tuesday, September 8th, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home.

Funeral services for Willa Dean Sammet will be held Wednesday, September 9th, 2026, at 3:00 p.m. at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home with Randall Hammock officiating. Burial will follow at Germantown Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Lynn Long, Chris Roper, Andy Davis, Cody Roper, Derrick Owen, and Gary Boyd.

Willa’s love, laughter, and cherished memories will remain in the hearts of her family and all who knew and loved her.
