Ms. Judy Lynn Hastings, age 74, of the New Canaan community of Arab, Alabama passed away Monday morning August 31, 2026 at Marshall Medical Center North. Daughter of Harold “Harry” David Edmondson, Sr. and Sarah Elizabeth Patty Edmondson, Judy was born August 8, 1952 in Jackson County, AL.
Judy loved her work as a cosmetologist and was an extremely skilled technician. She made many friends among her customers throughout her years of service. She was also a lifelong caregiver. Judy fiercely loved her family and friends and enjoyed nothing more than going out to eat and spending time with them.
Family members left behind to cherish their memories of Judy include her son and daughter in law, Jeff and Amanda Hastings; her grandchildren, Morgan Hastings, Mason Hastings, and Marshall Hastings; niece, Elizabeth Anne Edmondson Sebring; and a very dear friend, Deborah Sivley.
Judy is preceded in death by her father, Harold Edmondson, Sr; mother, Sarah Patty Edmondson; brothers, Harold “Harry” David Edmondson, Jr. and Joe Don Edmondson.
The family has chosen to follow Judy’s wishes for cremation. A Memorial Service to reminisce, honor, and acknowledge Judy will be Friday, September 4, 2026 at Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel. Visitation will be from 1:00 until 2:00pm with the memorial service at 2:00pm. Brother Mike Whitt will officiate the memorial service. Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel assisting with arrangements.
