David Carl Gieske
David began his journey in this life on June 24, 1978. He departed this world on August 30, 2026 at the age of 48.
David was a happy child. As a toddler and young boy, his cheerfulness radiated through his infectious smile. During his adult years, he expressed that same happy-go-lucky attitude through his ability to lighten a mood. Even now, we can picture his grin and feel the brush of his elbow against ours as he said, “Ah, come on,” reminding us not to always take life so seriously.
He sure did enjoy “cutting up” and making jokes. The lightheartedness came in handy when his niece and nephews came along. He truly appreciated the time he spent with them and the joy they brought into his life.
David will be missed by his family. We hope that others will share in our memories of his smile and laughter.
He was preceded in death by his father, Carl Gieske.
He is survived by his mother, Linda Gieske; sisters, Paula Luxich (Doug); Carla Gieske (Wayne Burdette), and Amy Garland; niece, Allie Garland; and nephews, Liam Burdette and Bryce Garland.
A graveside service will be held on Thursday, September 3, 2026 at 3:30 at Loretto Memorial Gardens. Visitation with the family will be on Thursday, September 3, 2026 from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm at Loretto Memorial Chapel.
