Sterling RobersonWilliam Sterling Roberson, 93, of Iron City, TN, went home to be with his Lord on Sunday, August 30, 2026. He was born on June 12, 1933, in Wayne County, TN, to the late Thomas Allen Roberson & Frankie Gladys Sledge Roberson. Sterling was a charter member of the Iron City Free Will Baptist Church, a farmer, cattle farmer, former employee of Murray Ohio Mfg. Co., owner of Roberson Saw Shop & Iron City Market and was a United States Air Force veteran. Survivors include: Daughters: Teresa Clanton, Susan Wallace (Randy), Donna Lamprecht (Tim), and Sandra Sherrell (Kevin) (12) Grandchildren; (26) great grandchildren; (5) great-great grandchildren Numerous nieces & nephews Preceded in death by: Wife & the love of his life: Lois Inez Clanton Roberson Brothers: Elvis, T.A., Bob & Terry Roberson Sisters: Lavanghn Gallien, Faye Pruitt & Rella Martin Son-in-law: Sammy Clanton Visitation will be Friday, September 4, 2026, from 5:00 – 8:00pm, at Greenhill Funeral Home. The funeral service will be Saturday, September 5, 2026, at 1:00pm, at Iron City Free Will Baptist Church, with Tim Hanback & Stacey Holt officiating. The casket will lie in state at the church from 12:00 – 1:00pm, at the church. Burial will follow at Railroad Cemetery. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
