Donny Higgins, age 70, of Scottsboro, Alabama, passed away on August 29, 2026. Born on July 14, 1956, Donny was originally from Dutton, Alabama, and later made his home in Scottsboro.
Donny will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Betty Higgins; daughter, Amanda Higgins; son, Daniel Higgins; stepdaughters, Lisa Thompson, Cindy (Wesley) Linderman, and Angela Young; and several cousins who will cherish his memory.
Donny leaves behind several grandchildren: Anna (Caleb) Willmon, Chloe Holcomb, Jace Higgins, Lane Smith, Alyssa Guess, Brandyn Thompson, Rachel Linderman, Landon Linderman, and Ava Linderman; and his great-grandchildren, Rylan Guess and Jaxtyn Poulin.
Donny was preceded in death by his parents, Denny Higgins and Patsy McGriff Higgins.
Donny will be deeply missed by his family, cousins, and all who had the privilege of knowing and loving him. His memory will live on through the lives of his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and extended family.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 1st, 2026 at Scottsboro Funeral Home with Pastor D J Smith officiating. Burial will follow in the Chaney Chapel Cemetery. The family will receive friends prior to the funeral service at the funeral home beginning at 11:00 a.m.
