Jimmy Reed Butler, 85, of Florence, passed away August 29, 2026, at his residence. He was a retired maintenance supervisor at Reynolds Alloy, a member of Woodmont Baptist church and a United States Army Reserve veteran. Survivors include: Son: Jason R. Butler (Kim) Grandchildren: Lynly Butler & Kenzy Butler Aunt: Marcella Pitts Numerous nieces, nephews and cousins Special friend: Sherry Fowler Preceded in death by: Wife: Carolyn Huff Butler Father: Jim Lee Butler & Mother: Virgie Tollis McMurtrey Hodges Stepfather: Howard Hodges Visitation will be Tuesday, September 1, 2026, from 11:00am – 1:00pm, at Greenhill Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 1:00pm, in the funeral home chapel, with Chad Hess & Jason Butler officiating. Burial will be at Shiloh Cemetery. Pallbearers will be: Harold McAfee, Larry Mangum, Rick Singleton, Dwight Watkins, Charles Nabers & Everett Chandler. Honorary pallbearers will be: Travis Hannah, Robert Coats, Robert Jeffreys, Donald Hannah & Glenn Butler.
