Bobby Gene Sanders, age 87, of Hytop, passed away on August 24, 2026 at his home.
He is survived by his daughters, LySonya Sanders and Angie Brown; grandchildren, Lee (Amber) Petty, Charlton (Emily) Brown, Chanel (Brad) Stephens, and Hunter (Brittney) Brown; great grandchildren, Gabriel (DeAnna) Petty, Asher Petty, Alexander Stephens, Max Stephens, Jessa Brown, Henry Stephens, Maverick Brown, Quinn Stephens, Axel Brown, and Selah Brown.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Sanders; parents, Jess and Maud Sanders; sisters, Kathleen Morris, Marie Jones, and Frances Stephens; brothers, William “Big Bud”, Gordon “Burr Head”, Louis, John, and David Sanders.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, August 27, 2026 at Scottsboro Funeral Home beginning at 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. He will lie in state at the Hytop Holiness Church from noon until 2:00 p.m. on Friday, August 28, 2026 and Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. with Brother James “Totchie” McLain and Brother Todd Davis officiating. Burial will follow in the Hytop Cemetery.
