Logo Icon  Gail Axler Yakupchina, age 69, of Pontotoc, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 26, 2026, at her daughter’s residence.

In keeping with Gail’s wishes, she will be cremated.

Born on December 15, 1956, in Brooklyn, New York, Gail was the daughter of the late Eli and Mildred Rothke Axler. She received her education at John F. Kennedy High School in Willingboro, New Jersey.

Gail was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She cherished her family and treasured the time she spent with those she loved. Gail found joy in life’s simple pleasures, including cooking and baking, browsing flea markets, and relaxing while watching her favorite television show, Cops. Her warm heart and caring nature will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Those left to cherish Gail’s memory include her two daughters, Lisa Tackitt (Justin) of Pontotoc and Julie Burdick of New Jersey; one son, Mitchell Yakupchina; one sister, Sharon Fox (Howard); six grandchildren, Hailey, D.J. and Jayden Burdick, Ciara Pratt, and Isabella and Gabriella Yakupchina; and three great-grandchildren, Mas’ai, Qausim, and Asai Burdick.

Gail was preceded in death by her parents, Eli and Mildred Rothke Axler; her husband, Scott; and one sister, Tracie Axler.

Although Gail’s family will deeply feel her absence, they may find comfort in the many cherished memories she leaves behind and the love she shared with each of them. Her memory will forever remain in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
