Erskine Calvin Putty, age 79 of Cottontown passed away Wednesday morning, August 26, 2026 at his home. He was born August 16, 1947 in Nashville, TN to Calvin & Jewel Hadley Putty. He worked for the United States Postal Service until his retirement and proudly served his country in the U.S. Marines in Vietnam. He loved cooking, playing Bluegrass music on his guitar, working in his yard and traveling to Gatlinburg with his wife. He is preceded in death by his parents; brother-in-law, James Bundy. He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Jacqueline Putty, Cottontown, TN; sons, Nathan (Megan) Putty, White House, TN and Cal Putty, Charleston, SC; brother, Mike (Bonnie) Putty, Nashville, TN; sisters, Norma Bundy and Patsy Putty, both of Hendersonville, TN; 3 grandchildren, Tyler, Lucy & Olivia; 2 great-grandchildren, Harper & Cameron. Graveside service and interment with military honors is scheduled for 1:15PM Tuesday, September 1, 2026 in White House Memorial Gardens, with family and friends serving as pallbearers. Visitation is planned for Tuesday, September 1, 2026 11AM-1PM at Austin & Bell, with a short fallen Marine service to be held just before leaving for the cemetery.
