Ms. Billye Frances Runion, age 91, passed away Friday morning, August 21, 2026, at Diversicare of Arab. She was born in Arkansas on February 12, 1935, to William Austin Rutledge and Frances Steadman Rutledge. Billye was a member of the Episcopal Church of The Epiphany and The Order of the Daughters of the King.
Billye was a graduate of Auburn University. Her professional career included work as a model, Montessori teacher, and television reporter. Her leisure activities included writing, photography, and poetry. She was also instrumental in the designing and building of two homes.
Billye is survived by her daughter, Elizabeth Hornsby.
In addition to her parents, William and Frances Rutledge, Billye is preceded in death by her husband, William Brewster Runion; grandchildren, Jacob Michael Austin Hornsby and Adam Chayce.
In keeping with Billye’s wishes, the family has chosen cremation with no public services. Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.
