Lee J. Altman departed this life on August 3rd, 2026, in Iuka, Mississippi at the age of 75. He was born January 18th, 1951, in Hughes, Arkansas, the son of the late Lee J. Altman, Sr. and the late Angie Mae Crouch Altman.
Lee grew up in a large, loving family with his mom and dad, four sisters, and three brothers in Orlando, Florida, where he attended grade school and Junior High School. He recently retired to Iuka, MS, where he enjoyed several hobbies such as watercolor painting, woodworking and playing the guitar.
He was a veteran and served in the U.S. Army during the war in Vietnam. He completed a GED while serving in the Army. After he was discharged, he served as a professional painter and accomplished carpenter, traveling around the country for many years. He also traveled for a while with the Barnum and Bailey Circus taking care of the elephants that performed with the circus.
He eventually settled in Nashville, TN, where he worked as a handyman, contractor for home repairs, and an apartment complex maintenance repairman for many years. He attended the Brentwood Baptist Church during that time.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a younger brother, Terry Wayne Altman of Hughes, Arkansas, who died in infancy, and three sisters, Joyce Fries, Marie Cozart, and Dorothy Gwaltney, all from West Palm Beach, Florida.
He is survived by his daughter, Angie Workman of Falmouth, Kentucky, his sister Linda Germain of West Palm Beach, Florida, and three brothers: Jimmy Fivecoat of Titusville, Florida, Robert Fivecoat of Grantsville, West Virginia, and Larry Altman of Fayetteville, Arkansas.
