Peggy Sue Hammock Sawyers, age 84, passed away Tuesday, August 25th, 2026, at her residence in Loretta, Tennessee.
Mrs. Sawyers was born June 24th, 1942 in Lafayette, Tennessee, to the late Roy Estell and Mary Jane Carmack Hammock.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Belinda Bell; four grandchildren, Christy, Christopher, Charles, and Anthony; sisters, Virginia Hammock, Louise Wilkerson, Eileen and Ruby Brinkley; brothers, Willie Hammock, Jacob Hammock, Eulis Biggs, and JD Biggs.
She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Clifford Massey Sawyers; daughters, Bonnie Yates of Loretta, Therease Sawyers of Columbia, and Jerri (Sha) Houck of Duck River; sons, Kenneth (Angela) Brown of Nashville, Max (Laurie) Tullock of Knoxville, Ervin (Linda) Sawyers of Columbia; step son John (Roseneljan) Spicer of Bon Aqua; special nephew Jerry Hammock; cousins Bobby and Rose Sawyers.
She was a retired machine operator in the audio production industry and was a member of Faith Baptist Church. She enjoyed fishing, coloring, and motorcycle riding in her younger days.
Visitation with the family will be held at Cornersville Funeral Home, 310 North Main St., Cornersville, TN, on Thursday, August 27th, 2026, from 2:00 pm until 7:00 pm.
Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, August 28th, 2026, at 1:00 pm at Cornersville Funeral Home with burial to follow in Mars Hill Cemetery.
