Aron Wayne Hanvey, 76, of Arab passed away Saturday August 22, 2026, at his residence. Wayne was born on March 1, 1950, in Cullman County, the son of Aron Benny Hanvey and Ezell White Hanvey. He was a graduate of Cullman High School and was married to Nancy Gail Hyatt Hanvey. He retired after 30 years from Americold and then worked for several years as custodian at Arab Jr. High. He was a member of New Canaan Missionary Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife: Gail Hanvey; daughter: Kristy (Josh) Hopkins; sister: Carolyn (Gary) McKoy; brother-in-law: Earnest Austen; grandchildren: Kyle Pate (Kelsey Chastain) and Gracie Hopkins; great grandchildren: Karmyn, Bailey and Lena. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings: Elizabeth, Francis, Easter, Buster and Raymond.
Funeral Service will be Wednesday August 26, 2026, at 2 PM at Gober Funeral Chapel with Bro. Quentin Claborn officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Oak-Ruth Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday from 12-2 PM at Gober Funeral Chapel.
