Charles N Padgett's obituary picture Funeral services for Charles Nathan Padgett, 82 of Oxford will be held in the Magnolia House at Cremation Services of East Alabama, 733 White Plains Road, Anniston at 2:PM on Tuesday, August 18th with Scott Crosson Officiating.

Burial will follow in the Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Tuesday beginning at noon until service time.
Charles was born on December 10, 1943 to Charles Terrell and Natherine Padgett, the second of four children.

He graduated from Oxford High School, class of ’63 where he enjoyed playing football and basketball. It was there he met Susie Ann Maddox.
Charles served in the  US Air Force, stationed in Topeka, Kansas. He and  Susie married in 1967 and returned to Topeka. In 1968, just three days before his discharge they welcomed a baby boy. They moved back to Oxford and three years later welcomed a baby girl. Charles, Susie, Benjie and Lisa continued to live in Oxford. He retired from the  Anniston Army Depot.

Charles is preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Susie Padgett, Parents, Terrell and Natherine Padgett; Mother-in-Law, Katie Maddox; Brother, Larry Padgett; Sister’s-in-Law, Margaret Padgett, Grace Martin, Frances Crosson, Elenor Short, Macie Feazell; Brother’s-in-Law, Doyle Ingram, Wallace Maddox, James Maddox, Alfred Maddox, James Martin, Bill Crosson, Dewayne Short, Earl Hurst, Franklin Story and Hubert Feazell.

He is survived by his son, Ben (Jackaline) Padgett; daughter, Lisa (Jamie) Clark; sister, Sheila (Glen) Stephens; brother, Terry (Tomma) Padgett; grandchildren, Wesley (Morgan), Bradley (Brooke), Grace and Evie; great-grandsons, Jasper and Walker; sister’s-in-law, Joyce Story, Jeanette Hurst, and by many nieces, nephews and extended family.

Charlie was of Baptist faith, and loved the Lord.
The family extends a special thanks to ACG Hospice, (Kera, Brandi and Clay), Lisa, Jackaline, Sheila and Emily for the care they gave during the final days.
Those serving as Pallbearers will be: Larry Reaves, Britt Weems, Fred Maddox, Darin Hurst, Terry Padgett, and Corey Etter.
Honorary Pallbearers will be the OHS Class of ’63.
