James Melton Taylor Jr., 71, of Florence, passed away on August 11, 2026, at Lauderdale Christian Nursing Home. He was a retired produce manager with Winn-Dixie. He served as an elder at First Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
Visitation will be at Greenview Funeral Home, Saturday, August 15, 2026, from 9-11 a.m. A Graveside will follow at Greenview Memorial Park with Rev. Dwayne McDuff officiating.
James is preceded in death by his father, James Melton Taylor Sr.; mother, Louise Raby Taylor; grandfather, Bryan E. Taylor; grandmother, Thelma Brodioi; wife, Terri Taylor; brothers-in-law, John Fogarty and Mark Tate; grandson, Micheal David Martin; foster daughter, April Green.
He is survived by son, James Melton Taylor III; daughters, Alyson Taylor Grissom (Kevin), Jennifer Taylor Wood (Dylan); sisters, Judy Taylor Baum (Bob), Linda Taylor Smith (Tom), Janet Taylor Fogarty (the late John Fogarty); sister-in-law, Karen Tate; brothers-in-law, Duwayne Hagen (Sabrina) and Alan Hagen; grandchildren, Arthur D. (Dee) Sutton IV, Gracie Diane Sutton and Anna Maelie Grissom.
Pallbearers will be Dylan Wood, Dee Sutton, Alan Hagen, Mark Rodgers, Jeff Cornelius, and Men of the First Cumberland Church.
