Joshua Paul Thompson left this world on August 11, 2026, at the age of 40 to be with his heavenly father. He was born on August 30, 1985, in Sheffield, Alabama to Geneva Ann Thompson and the late Paul Terry Thompson.
He was married to Miranda Cheyanne Williamson Thompson. His greatest wish was to become a father, but God had other plans. He loved his wife of 12 years faithfully. Josh had a big heart and loved everyone.
He was a member of 5th Street Baptist Church in Iuka, MS. Josh loved the Lord and loved attending church. His favorite song was Victory in Jesus. Joshua 24:15 “And if it seem evil unto you to serve the Lord, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.” was his favorite scripture.
Joshua graduated from Cherokee High School where he played football. He loved animals, family time, Alabama football, a “Roll Tide” fan at heart, church, fishing, playing cards and video games.
He was preceded in death by his father, Paul Terry Thompson; and grandparents.
Josh is survived by his wife, Miranda; mother, Geneva Ann Thompson; sisters, Tammy Jaynes and Amanda Evans; goddaughter, Anastasia Holloway; in-laws, The Williamson’s; special friends, Jeffery Thompson, Dustin Williams, Travis Bennett, and a host of sorrowing family and friends.
