Elizabeth “Betty” Hargrove, age 86 of Franklin, TN passed away August 13, 2026. She was born in Williamson County, TN to the late Robert G. & Ida Jennette Forrest. Betty worked for several years at the King Neptune Queen Laundry in Franklin as well as the old pencil factory in Franklin. Betty, also affectionately known as “Mammy”, will be remembered for loving her family and always putting others first. She enjoyed watching The Golden Girls, listening to George Strait as well as George Jones. Betty enjoyed the mountains and vacation to Gatlinburg. She enjoyed word search puzzles as well as an ice-cold coke with peanuts added to it. Betty enjoyed cooking, especially Thanksgiving dinner and having her grandchildren help crumble the cornbread for the dressing. She will be missed by all who knew her. She is preceded in death by her son, Michael Hargrove who passed away, June 2, 2026. She is also preceded in death by her sisters, Mary Virginia “Tibby” Forrest, Lena Fitts, Dorothy Beard, Annie Martin and Lois Green. Betty is survived by her grandchildren, Adam (Samantha) Hargrove, Josh (Lori) Hargrove and Rebekah (Richard) Harris; great-grandchildren, Beckett & Kolter Hargrove and Chatham & Ryker Harris and many other loving family members. Funeral service will be held 12:00 Noon Monday, August 17, 2026 with visitation one hour prior to the service at Williamson Memorial Funeral Home. Jim Taylor will officiate. Burial will follow at Williamson Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Adam, Josh, Rebekah, Richard, Chatham and Ryker. Memorials may be made to the Betty Hargrove Memorial Fund.
