Howard Robert Snook, 74, passed away peacefully at his home on August 7, 2026, surrounded by his family after a courageous battle with cancer.
Howard was born on February 20, 1952, in Texarkana, Texas, to Eldon Francis Snook and Jennie Mary (Barrett) Snook, who later married Raymond Lafleur.
Howard is survived by his devoted wife, Carol Jean Snook; his children, Marti Snook of Five Points, Tennessee, Heather Buckner (Shannon) of Five Points, Tennessee, Kristen Joyce (Dan) of St. Paul, Minnesota, and Michael Shepherd of Tullahoma, Tennessee; and his cherished grandchildren, Cora and Brock Buckner and Aiden Shepherd. He is also survived by his sister, Helen Truesdell of Lascassas, Tennessee, and his brothers, William Dean Snook and John Raymond Lafleur (Holly), both of Shelbyville, Tennessee, and Eric Schloen of California.
Howard found joy in life’s simple pleasures. Whether he was fishing, woodworking, or tinkering in his workshop, he loved creating things with his hands. His hobby farm was one of his favorite places to be, and he could often be found tending his sheep or feeding and chatting with his chickens, always with his faithful dog, Ruby, by his side.
A man of deep faith, Howard was committed to his church and lived out his beliefs through kindness and service. He was a dependable friend and a caring neighbor who was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. His quiet generosity and steady presence touched the lives of many.
More than anything, Howard loved his family, and he will be deeply missed and remembered.
