William Armstrong, age 90, of Fultondale, AL, was called home on July 24, 2026. He
lived life with so much joy and would do anything for anyone. He loved hunting, fishing,
working on cars, playing the guitar, and singing. He also enjoyed showing off his three
Volkswagens and spending his free time at car shows. He enjoyed everything about
nature and being outside, appreciating the beauty and wonder of all of God’s creations.
More than anything, he loved being with his family, teaching his children, grandchildren,
and great-grandchildren everything he knew about life with many stories along the way.
He also lived a life dedicated to serving others, which included his work in maintenance
at St. Vincent’s Hospital, where he retired after 28 years of service. He leaves behind
his beloved wife of 69 years, Judith Armstrong. Their love story is one you would find
written in fairytales. He is survived by his two daughters, Kathy Goodwin (Rodger) of
Tarrant, AL; Debra Turner (Mike) of Trussville, AL; and his Grandchildren: Zachary
Goodwin (Cassidy), Michael Turner (Ashley), Matison Terry (Sam), and Morgan Gooch
(Darian). His great-grandchildren: Brooklyn Turner, Atticus Goodwin, Zander Turner,
Zayne Turner, Adasynn Gooch, Saylor Horton, Beatrix Goodwin, Harper Gooch, and
Everly Terry. He is also survived by his siblings Susie Swann and Helen Oden, and his
Brother-in-law Tracy Baines, along with a host of Nieces, Nephews, Cousins, and
Friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, Alvin Edward Armstrong and Mary
Elizabeth Armstrong; his siblings Benjamin Armstrong and his wife Faye; Mary Baines;
Shelvia Motte and her husband Frank; and his brother-in-law Eugene Oden. A visitation
will be held at 10:00 am on Monday, July 27, 2026, with a Celebration of Life to follow at
11:00 am at New Horizon Memorial Gardens in Dora, AL. A Burial Service will be held
directly after at McCormick Cemetery in Dora, AL
