SOMERVILLE-On July 21, 2026, Deputies with the Morgan County Sheriff’s Office, Somerville Police, and area Firefighters responded to a residential fire in the 50 block of Springfield Private Drive in Somerville. While responding, a suspicious person was reported to have been near the residence when the fire began and was currently leaving the area on foot.

Deputies located the subject and notified Investigators. During the investigation, the subject, Cody Heath McGraw, 39, of Somerville, admitted to starting the fire. He was arrested and charged with Arson 1st Degree.
He is currently being held without bond pending an Aniah’s Law hearing.
Occupants had safely exited the home with no injuries reported.
