Herman Paul Jones, Jr., age 92 of Mentone, passed away on July 16, 2026. He was born on May 7, 1934 in Mentone to the late Herman, Sr. & Kathryn Ellis Jones. He retired as a boilermaker for Combustion Engineering. Mr. Jones enjoyed many hobbies such as working on cars, carpentry work, traveling on his motorcycle, and yard work but most importantly he loved his wife and his family and put everyone’s needs before his own. He was of the Baptist faith.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m., Sunday, July 19, 2026 at the Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with burial following in the Bankhead Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 12 noon until the 2 p.m. hour of service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to Blood Cancer United.
He is survived by his daughters, Jan Pinson, Kimberly Patterson and Cindy Manning; granddaughter, Lynette Pinson; great-grandson, Colton Smith; niece, Sandra (Herschel) Pruitt; and several cousins.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Nation Jones; parents; and sister & brother-in-law, Evelyn & Jimmy Graves.
