Bobby Ray Kiddy, age 75, a beloved resident of Hickory Flat, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 16, 2026, following an extended illness.
A service celebrating Bobby’s life will be held on Tuesday, July 21, 2026, at 3:00 p.m. in the Memory Chapel of New Albany Funeral & Cremation Care. Family and friends are invited to visit from 12:00 p.m. until the time of service. Burial will follow at Amaziah Baptist Church Cemetery.
Born on July 4, 1951, in Union County, Bobby was the son of the late Shields Paul Kiddy and Rachel Mullins Kiddy. He spent many years working as a skilled brick mason before retiring 25 years ago. Bobby believed in the value of hard work and took great pride in all that he accomplished.
An outdoorsman at heart, Bobby loved spending his time hunting and fishing. One of his greatest joys was developing the property he affectionately called the “Kiddy Plantation,” a place that reflected his love for the land and the life he built. He was happiest outdoors, making memories with family and friends.
Bobby never met a stranger. He was known for his quick sense of humor and loved teasing those around him just to make them smile. His playful spirit brought laughter wherever he went, and his kind heart was evident in the special love he had for children and animals. He will be remembered as someone who lived simply, loved deeply, and found joy in the people and things that mattered most.
Those left to cherish his memory include his three sisters, Eva Harpole of Blue Springs, Kermie Dowdy of Hickory Flat, and Modine Starnes of Blue Springs; his five brothers, Ricky Kiddy of Hickory Flat, Earl Kiddy of Hickory Flat, Roger Kiddy of Hickory Flat, Billy Kiddy of Tishomingo County, and David Kiddy of Hickory Flat; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends who will forever treasure the memories they shared with him.
In addition to his parents, Bobby was preceded in death by his daughter and two brothers, Danny Lee Kiddy and Charles Kiddy.
New Albany Funeral & Cremation Care is honored to serve the Kiddy family and invites friends and loved ones to share their memories and condolences as they celebrate Bobby’s life.
