Mr. Nicky Glen Hopper, age 71, passed away on Tuesday, July 14, 2026, in Nashville, Tennessee.

Born on August 8, 1954, in Defiance, Ohio, Nicky was one of three children born to the late Paul Venard Hopper and Lounell Hart Hopper. Though his life began in Ohio, Lexington became the place he proudly called home. A graduate of Lexington High School, Nicky was remembered by many of his classmates not only for his easygoing personality but also for his athletic ability. He was honored as the Most Valuable Player of the 1972 Lexington High School Tigers basketball team, an accomplishment that remained a proud part of his life’s story.

Throughout his career, Nicky earned the respect of countless people as a master carpenter. His talent with his hands was remarkable, and there seemed to be very little he could not build, repair, or figure out. Friends and family often described him as a true “jack of all trades.” Whether helping with a construction project, lending a hand to a neighbor, or solving a problem that others couldn’t, Nicky was always willing to put his skills to work for someone else.

More than anything, people will remember the kind of man Nicky was. He never met a stranger and was known by just about everyone in the community. His warm personality, friendly smile, and willingness to help made it easy for people to call him a friend. To those who knew him best, he was dependable, genuine, and someone you could always count on.

In his younger years, Nicky enjoyed riding horses and spending time outdoors. He was also a lifelong NASCAR fan, cheering especially for the legendary Dale Earnhardt. As the years passed, some of his greatest joy came from spending time with his grandchildren. Whether sharing stories, offering advice, or simply enjoying their company, his family was always at the center of his heart.

The love Nicky shared with his family was returned many times over. Perhaps no words describe him more beautifully than those spoken by his sister, who simply said, “He was my hero.” Those four words speak volumes about the strength, character, and unwavering love he showed throughout his life.

He leaves behind the love of his life, his wife, Gypsy Rosie Lee Hopper; two daughters, Tiffany Nicole Adcock and Michelle Tippett (Charlie); five sons, Jeffery Dean Adcock, Jr. (Tonya Hicks), Michael Cain Adcock (Jodie), Kaley Drew Hopper, Luke Anthony Adcock (Andrea), and Beau Adcock; one sister, Donna Ivy (Michael Goldner); one brother, Jeffery Hopper (April); twenty-five beloved grandchildren; and four cherished great-grandchildren. Each of them carries forward a piece of the love, wisdom, humor, and generosity that defined his life.

Though he will be deeply missed, Nicky leaves behind a legacy that reaches far beyond the things he built with his hands. His greatest work was the relationships he built through kindness, loyalty, laughter, and a willingness to help anyone in need. The memories he created with family and friends will continue to be treasured for generations to come.

Funeral services for Mr. Hopper will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 18, 2026, in the chapel of Pafford Funeral Home, with burial to follow in Palestine Cemetery near Lexington. Serving as pallbearers will be Luke Adcock, Sr., Luke Adcock, Jr., Jeffery Adcock, Braden Adcock, Jeffery Hopper, and Josh Russell.
