Charles Hulen West, 72, of Pleasant Groves, AL. passed away peacefully on Thursday July 2, 2026.
Born on June 28th, 1954 to Charles and Frances West. Hulen lived a life full of love and some heartaches along the way. Through it all he maintained his integrity and kept his eyes on his eternal home.
Hulen was a member of Pleasant Groves Holiness Church for over 45 years, where he faithfully attended and laid a pattern of good works. He loved the Lord and has now gone on to receive his reward.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years Tret. While his health declined the past several years, she faithfully stood by his side. Her life has revolved around taking care of her husband and is a shining example on how to fulfill the vows of marriage
Together they have two children, Ryan (Jessica) West and Brooke (Brandon) Gossett. They also have two grandchildren, Keegan and Kailey West, who he loved being papa to. Hulen is also survived by his two sisters Catherine and Terry West. His family was his life and he enjoyed having his family close. Hulen is proceeded in death by his loving parents, Charles and Frances West.
While we mourn his loss we take courage in knowing his race is run. He is going to receive a new body, one not bound by walkers and wheel chairs, but a body that is brand new where he will spend eternity praising and worshipping his Lord. He has kept his faith. He has endured til the end. He has received victory.
Visitation will begin Saturday at 2pm at Pleasant Groves Holiness Church and also from 11am to 1pm on Sunday. Services will be held at Pleasant Groves Holiness Church, Sunday at 1:00 pm with Bro. Jamie Black, Bro. Nick West and Bro. James Carl Black officiating.
Interment will be in Pleasant Groves Cemetery.
