Willie Lee Hollis, age 85, of Sulligent, AL, passed away on Tuesday, June 30, 2026 at Arabella Health and Wellness in Vernon, AL. Celebration of Life services will be held on Wednesday, July 8, 2026 at 1:00pm from the Otts Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in the Redus Cemetery in Sulligent, AL. Bro. Billy Wayne Marchbanks to officiate. Visitation will be held at the funeral home prior to the funeral services from 12:00pm until 1:00pm.
Willie Lee Hollis was born on July 22, 1940, to the late Mr. Robert Lee Hollis, Sr. and IWilda McKinney Hollis in Sulligent, Alabama. Willie Lee was educated in the Sulligent Public Schools System. Willie Lee joined The United States Army and served his country as a National Guards member for 11 years and was discharged after suffering an injury.
Willie Lee was joined in Holy Matrimony to Nellie Gray Armstrong, and from this union three beautiful children were born; Willie Nell, David (Junior), and Gloria Jean. Willie Lee was known for his jovial spirit and witty sense of humor. Willie Lee spent a great deal of time doing outdoor sports, such as hunting and fishing. Willie Lee also enjoyed farming and logging as well. Willie Lee loved his family and friends dearly and was always kidding around with anyone in his presence. Willie Lee adored the long-time companionship of the late Rosalie Hackman for many years. Willie Lee truly lived his life to the fullest and will be sorely missed.
Willie Lee was proceeded in death by his son; David Hollis, daughter; Gloria Gean Hollis, grandson; Antonio Jones, brother; Robert Lee Hollis, Jr., and sister; Emma Standifer.
Willie Lee leaves to cherish is memory his beloved daughter Willie Nell Jones, Sisters; Josephine Vaughn (Herschel), and Kellie G. Chatman, Grandsons; Eric and Kasey Jones, Granddaughters; Whitney Prude (Javian) and Tiara Lang (Donovan), Great-grand Children; Asia, Kasen, Kobe, Tajious, Arianna, Marlee, Everlee, Lucas, Annalee, Aliya, Anayah, Alexis. Willie Lee is also survived by 3 stepchildren, 4 step-grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
