Johnnie Ruth CoodyMs. Johnnie Ruth Hardin Coody, age 84, a 30-year resident of Holly Pond, Alabama, passed away early Monday morning, June 29, 2026, at her residence. Born in Cullman County, Alabama, on March 2, 1942, Johnnie Ruth was the last surviving child of Milford Hardin and Lillie Mae Laverne Butler Hardin.

Johnnie Ruth is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Tina and Mahlon Howard, Mary Grace and Audy Mitchell, and Barbara and Billy Ramey; eleven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren, all of whom her world revolved around.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Therman Billy Coody; her mother, Lillie Mae Butler Hardin; her father, Milford Hardin; her brother, Billy Wayne Hardin; and her sisters, Shirley Faye Pierce and Glenda Gail Towns.

Johnnie Ruth’s family was the center of her life and her greatest joy. She treasured every moment spent with those she loved, especially gathering for Thursday night family dinners. She enjoyed playing Super Mario, browsing local yard sales, and creating lasting memories with those closest to her. A gifted cook, Johnnie Ruth expressed her love through the meals she prepared, and her creativity shone through her beautiful paintings. She will be remembered for her loving heart, generous spirit, and the joy she brought to everyone blessed to know her.

Services for Johnnie Ruth will be Thursday, July 2, 2026, at Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel in Arab, AL . Family and friends will gather for visitation beginning at 1:00 p.m. with the funeral services following at 3:00 p.m. Brother Randy L Blakely will officiate services. Interment will be in Baileyton Cemetery in Cullman County, AL.

Pallbearers will be Matthew Ramey, Billy Ray Ramey, Austin Mitchell, Devin Taylor, Kyle Taylor, and Ryan Holt. Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel assisting the family with arrangements.
