Johnny William McCullar, Jr., age 53 of Haleyville, Alabama passed away June 27, 2026. John began preaching the gospel on July 29, 1996. He has been the Pastor at Blue Springs Freewill Baptist Church for 26 years. He taught at Haleyville City Schools for 25 years. During that time he coached football, tennis and was the fishing coach, was the principal at all 4 campuses, most recently was Principal at Haleyville Center of Technology.
Visitation will be Tuesday, June 30, 2026 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Pinkard Funeral Home, Haleyville, Alabama. Funeral service will begin at 2:00 p.m. with Jeff Brown and Joseph Boyles officiating. Burial will follow in Winston Memorial Cemetery.
Pallbearers, Dale Hooper, Michael Frost, Ray Frost, Mark Frost, Lance McCullar, Steven Smith, Tanner Green and Tyler Hudson.
He is survived by his wife, Jenny Lynn Boyles McCullar; children, Maegan Lynn McCullar and William Keith McCullar; sister, Brenda (Tony) Price; nieces, Emily (Tyler) Hudson and Kayla (Tanner) Green; great nephew, Tripp Hudson; and great nieces, Kylie Kate Hudson and Peyton Green.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Johnny and Betty McCullar; grandparents, William and Bernice McCullar and Neri and Mary Lee Frost.
