Logo Icon Traviles Wayne Jones, age 48, of the Myrtle Community, passed away at his residence on Sunday, June 21, 2026, following a brief illness.

Funeral services honoring the life of Mr. Jones will be held at 1:00 PM on Thursday, June 25, 2026, in the Memory Chapel of New Albany Funeral & Cremation Care with Bro. James Steele officiating. Family and friends are invited to gather for visitation beginning at 12:00 noon prior to the service.

Born on October 19, 1977, in Memphis, Tennessee, Traviles was the son of David Jones, Sr. and Linda Bogan Jones. He attended school in Holly Springs and spent most of his life in North Mississippi. For the past twenty-four years, he made his home in the Myrtle Community, where he was known as a hardworking man who never shied away from putting in long hours to provide for his family. He was the proud owner and operator of Interstate Truck and Trailer Repair Company, working as a diesel mechanic.

On December 31, 2011, Traviles married the love of his life, Sandy Jones. Together they shared years of love, laughter, and cherished memories while building a home centered around family.

A Christian of the Baptist faith, Traviles found happiness in the simple things life had to offer. He loved spending time outdoors, whether he was fishing, riding four-wheelers, working in his garden, or simply enjoying nature. He especially enjoyed traveling with his family and looked forward to vacations in Hot Springs, Arkansas, a place that held a special spot in his heart. He could often be found watching Ice Road Truckers, but nothing brought him greater joy than spending time with his family and making memories with those he loved. His quiet strength, strong work ethic, and devotion to his family will be remembered by all who knew him.

He leaves behind his loving wife, Sandy Jones of Myrtle; two daughters, Shelby Lynn Jones and Skylin Jones, both of Myrtle; one brother, David Jones, Jr. of Victoria, Mississippi; and two beloved grandchildren, Grayson Pitts and Waylon Pitts.

Though his time here was far too short, the memories Traviles created and the love he shared will remain in the hearts of his family and friends for years to come. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all whose lives he touched.

New Albany Funeral & Cremation Care invites you to share memories with the Jones family.
