Rainney, Carla Sue Page of Mt. Pleasant, TN formerly of Grand Blanc, MI went peacefully into the arms of Jesus on June 22, 2026, at home surrounded by family. Visitation will be held on June 29, 2026, from 10am to 12pm at Williams Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant, TN followed by a graveside service at 12:30pm at Arlington Cemetery also in Mt. Pleasant with Pastor Mark King officiating.

Born on December 27th, 1936, in Flint, MI to the late Austin Edward Page, Sr and the late Willie Ross Davis Page, Carla loved learning and could always be found reading. After graduating from Flint Technical High School, she began working at Citizens National Bank. She married John Arthur Rainney in 1959, and they had two wonderful children, Denise Lynn and John Alan, whom she stayed home to raise. They moved to Grand Blanc, MI where she was active in her daughters Girl Scout troop, helping in her children’s school activities, with their 4-H club, and the numerous horse shows they attended.

Carla loved ceramics and the needle arts such as knitting, cross-stitch, embroidery, and sewing. She made many clothes, including her daughter’s saddle seat riding habit for showing horses as well as the dress she wore to her daughter’s wedding. She was also an accomplished gardener, collecting hundreds of flowers and herbs over the years.

Carla enjoys her numerous dogs during her lifetime and truly enjoyed God’s creations, except snakes. She loved her family, always looked forward to family gatherings, and often had her nephews for an extended stay in the summer months. Christmas was her favorite holiday with all the hustle and bustle and a house full of guests. After John’s retirement they and their son Alan moved to TN, and she fell in love with the beautiful countryside and became interested in genealogy.

Carla will be dearly missed by her husband of 66 years, John; her daughter Denise ( David) Martindale; sister Jean Page McCormick; brothers Austin Edward (Ellie) Page, Jr and William Douglas (Sandy) Page; nephews Chris Page, Steve Page, Tom Page, and Jeff Page; numerous cousins, great nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, infant son Steven Wesley and son John Alan.

Honorary pallbearers are Chris Page, Steve Page, Tom Page, Jeff Page, Kevin Husslein, and members of Mt. Joy Cumberland Presbyterian Church.

Carla’s family would like to thank Compassus of Columbia for their dedication to her.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the following: Compassus of Columbia, 1503 Hatcher Ln Ste 200, Columbia, TN 38401; Mt. Joy Cumberland Presbyterian Church, 8364 Mt Joy Rd Mount Pleasant, TN; and Maury County Animal Shelter, 1233 Mapleash Ave, Columbia, TN 38401.
