Clara Geneva Butler, lovingly known as “Jenny,” passed away peacefully on June 5, 2026,
just three days shy of her 88th birthday.
Jenny was a strong, independent, hardworking, kind, and spirited woman whose love for
her family was the center of her life. She devoted many years to serving her community
through her work. She was a Deli Manager for Winn-Dixie for more than 15 years before
beginning a second career in the cafeteria at Lee High School, where she faithfully worked
for over 20 years. Her dedication and work ethic remained unmatched, and she continued
working until retiring at the remarkable age of 81.
Above all else, Jenny cherished her family. She found her greatest joy in spending time with
her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, creating memories and sharing her
love with each generation. Her warmth, strength, humor, and sassy spirit will be
remembered by all who knew and loved her.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald Butler; her father, Daniel Glass; her
mother, Bledsa Glass; her sisters, Madge Hendrix and Juanita King; and her son, Mark
Taylor.
She leaves behind a loving family who will forever treasure her memory: her sons, Gregg
Taylor and wife Milanda, and Tim Taylor; her daughter, Heather Campbell and husband
Todd; her brothers, Roger Woods and wife Kim, and Danny Glass; and her sisters, Polly
McMillan and Paula Cooper.
She is also survived by her beloved grandchildren, Cassidy Taylor; Claudia Damon and
husband Curtis; Kirsten Myers and husband Jacob; Trinity Giblin and husband Gabe; Jeffrey
Campbell; and Tristan Taylor.
Her legacy continues through her cherished great-grandchildren, JT Myers and Colsen
Damon.
Jenny also leaves behind many nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly, along with
countless friends and loved ones whose lives were touched by her kindness, strength, and
unwavering love.
Though our hearts are broken by her passing, we take comfort in God’s promise of eternal
life.
Until then, we will hold her memory close to our hearts and treasure the love she gave so
freely. She will forever remain in our hearts, and we love her more than words can say.
“Well done, good and faithful servant ” — Matthew 25:23
