Sonia Joan Hicks Barnes “Cornbread” age 50 of Guin, AL passed away Saturday May 30, 2026 in the North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo, MS.
Born March 30, 1976 in Jasper, AL she is the daughter of the late James Dill and the late Rita Jo Kerr and the wife of Justin Nathaniel Barnes. She had lived in Guin most of her live and was a member of the New Beginnings Apostolic Church in Crews.
She is survived by her husband, Justin Nathaniel Barnes, 3 Sons, Charles Edward Green, Jr. (Alicia), Dennis William Green, and John Wayne Franklin (Desiree) a host of grandchildren, 2 Brothers, 3 Sisters, a host of nieces and nephews, Mother In Law, Darlene and Carl Perkins, and Father In Law, Perry and Jo Barnes.
She was preceded in death by her parents, 3 grandchildren, Kemden, Lawson and Davian, and Brother, Jimmy Lee Dill.
Services held Wednesday, June 3, 2026 at 11:00 AM from the Veal Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with burial in the Barnes Family Cemetery. Bro. William Kirkman officiating.
