Funeral services for Mrs. Voncyle Hickman will be held Wednesday June 3, 2026, at 12 PM in the chapel of Shelton Funeral Home, with Dr. Brad Patterson officiating. Burial will follow in Davis Grove Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be held Wednesday June 3, 2026, from 10 AM until service time.

Voncyle Hickman, age 89, passed peacefully in her sleep at Trenton Health and Rehabilitation Center after four weeks full of severe pain from a broken leg. She strove to be brave while fighting through a lot of painful rehab.

Voncyle was Baptist in faith and attended First Baptist Church in Trenton, TN as long as her health permitted. She loved the Lord with all her heart and lived her life as a nurse for 31 years serving other people. Her work began at Memorial Hospital before moving to Jackson when the hospital in Trenton closed. She shared her faith with many others while working at Jackson – Madison County General Hospital on the cancer floor.

Voncyle is survived by; a daughter Leann Cherry and husband Doug and a son, Greg Rasberry and wife Mary Ann. She loved her grandsons dearly, Chase Lewisand wife Niki, Chance Lewis, and Kyle Rasberry and wife Mary Ann. She also had two precious great grandsons, TJ Lewis and Kent Rasberry.

She was preceded in death by her parents Raymond and Sally Lou Cole; her beloved husband James Hickman; four brothers, Bill Cole, Bob Cole, Larry Cole, and Ralph Cole; and her sister, Martha Lou Hammonds.

Her compassionate care for everyone will live on in the hearts of all her family.
