Mary Parker Hood, 80, passed away Sunday, May 31, 2026, at NMMC Hospice in Tupelo. She was born November 15, 1945 to the late Grady Parker and the late Bertha Cayson Parker. Our precious Mother, Memaw, Great, Great received her Heavenly healing May 31, 2026. She joined her family that has been waiting on her, in Heaven. She was healed and happy to see those that she has missed so much. Our momma was the perfect example of a spiritual mother. She prayed for each of us throughout each and every day. She not only loved us unconditionally but she taught us all to love. She never said goodbye in person or on the phone without saying “I love you.” Mary gave of herself so unselfishly and did not ask for anything in return. Her presence in our lives will be so missed and a piece of us all will be forever void. Her favorite part of her life was her family. She loved to laugh at all of us especially the grandchildren’s stories and escapades. She served in many roles at the church she loved so much, Trinity Baptist Church. She loved her church family so very much and when her health declined she stated every week, “ maybe I can go to church this Sunday.” She was a servant of her community, whether it was Pilot club, director of Crime stoppers or Leadership Itawamba. She enjoyed serving in the community she loved and called home. She enjoyed reading, watching food network and cooking.
A celebration of her life will be 2:00 pm on June 2, 2026 at Trinity Baptist Church with Bro. Mark Robbins and Bro. Robert Humphres officiating. Visitation will begin at 11:00 am Tuesday until service time at Trinity Baptist Church. Burial will be at Itawamba Memorial Gardens. Senter Funeral Directors is honored to serve the family.
Survivors include her daughters: Allison (Lloyd Swindle) Miller of Fulton, Melissa (Steven) Cox of Nettleton, Tammy (Tim Inman) Gresham of Tuscumbia, AL; grandchildren: LaShanda (Joey) Wingo, Bradley Miller, Kalynn (Josh) Brewer, Justin (Randileigh) Cox, Zac (Melyndie) Cox, Leigh Anne (Hunter) Devall, Alyssa (Autumn) Cox, Madison (Landon) Baker, Hope (Josh) Cox, Alisha Cox, Julie (Spencer) Harlow; great-grandchildren: Hayden Wingo, Jace Wingo, Jackson Wingo, Bradyn Warren, Hadleigh Warren, Maggie Miller, Evie Cox, Addison Baker, Camden Baker, Anna Katherine Baker, Kinsleigh Devall, Alivia Harlow, Walker Harlow; special friends: Wanda Summerford, Shirley Reeves, and Nathan Miller
